We are issuing this notice as we have recently received reports of fraudulent scams impersonating Medipeace or its volunteers to demand donations. To protect your valuable assets and goodwill, please carefully review the information below and exercise extreme caution.

Major Impersonation Scam Types & Characteristics

• Demanding donations under the pretext of an emergency: Appealing to emotions by claiming that a Medipeace overseas volunteer is currently in a dangerous situation (e.g., illness, accident, or detention) and urgently requires financial aid or bail money.

• Requesting transfers to personal or unverified accounts: Demanding money transfers to personal bank accounts or unverified third-party accounts instead of Medipeace's official donation account.

Medipeace's Official Fundraising Principles

• Medipeace NEVER conducts emergency fundraising based on an individual's personal circumstances or emergency situations.

• Medipeace is an NGO operated through the voluntary participation of citizens to guarantee the right to health for marginalized communities worldwide.

• All official donations are collected exclusively through designated official accounts under Medipeace's corporate name. We will never ask for donations via personal bank accounts under any circumstances.

Prevention & Reporting Guide

• If you receive a message, email, or phone call suspected of impersonation, do NOT transfer any money. Please immediately contact the Medipeace Secretariat to verify the facts.

• If you have already suffered financial damage, please report it to the police right away.
