해외언론[PH/Capitol News] 12 Public Schools Get First Aid kits, Tools From Medipeace

Twelve public schools in Iloilo province received first aid kits, oral and topical medicines, tools and equipment from Korean non-government organization Medipeace on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.


The recipient schools are: Cambitu Elementary School (Oton), Binuluangan Integrated School (Carles), Barotac Viejo National High School, Ilong Bukid National High School (San Rafael), Calicuang National High School (Dingle), Lipata Elementary School (Barotac Viejo), Anabo National High School (Lemery), Bakabak Elementary School (Sara), San Lucas Elementary School (Barotac Viejo), Lo-ong National High School (Concepcion), Guinacas Elementary School (Pototan) and New Lucena Comprehensive National High School.


The first aid kits, medicines and tools will be placed in the school clinics of the recipient schools for the benefit of the students. Medipeace also turned over two automated external defibrillators to the provincial government's Hospital Management Office (HMO). Medipeace program director Taebum Lee and program officer Daeun Jung led the turn-over ceremony held at the provincial capitol lobby in the presence of provincial administrator Suzette Mamon, representing Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr., and HMO chief Cynthia Ng.


Medipeace together with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has been a partner of Gov. Defensor and the province of Iloilo in various health programs and projects since 2012. It has donated a total of 14 ambulances that were distributed to the 12 district hospitals in the province.


Medipeace also donated various medical equipment to the Rural Health Units (RHU) and conducted trainings for selected hospital personnel to enhance their capabilities especially in saving lives.


Last November 2018, Medipeace in cooperation with the Seoul National University Hospital and the Korean Health Industry Development Institute sponsored the free heart operation of five-year-old Zhen Mary Kathleen Deypalubos from Dumangas, Iloilo in South Korea. (ECGarcia/ Capitol News)
